post your chicken coop pictures here!

I started mine this week!

I found Becky's Homestead before BYC and some of the stuff she said has helped me. Other stuff she said I took with a grain of salt. LOL

Becky is a happy peppy person but I was appalled at how unprotected her so-called chicken coop was -- it wasn't enclosed from night predators and the open pen was unprotected from aerial predators. Wonder how many of her original flock is still alive or around?

Out of curiosity I just checked out the site in question, I was in one sentences before the grains of salt started to flow O'Plenty... It's clear she relies heavily on false dichotomy as well as hyperbole for many of her proclamations, while others are just flat untruths...

Very nice coop build. Do you have the wire going down into the ground to protect from digging predators? If not, some 12x12 paver stones around the outside base will keep diggers out. Some paver stones as a walkway to the coop door will be appreciated in muddy/rainy weather. Our little 4x6 coop had 3 open wire walls and we had to tarp the coop from windy rain. Eventually we had to set a popup canopy over the little coop to stay dry in the rain when we collected eggs. The pavers kept a couple stray dogs from digging into the coop so I've become a strong believer in fortifying foundations.

I wondered the same about the protection. I thought it looked like the coop could be closed up at night but maybe I'm wrong.

I am bummed out that this is not a TARDIS, but then again, you don;t want to run the risk of your chickens becoming lost anywhere in time and space....

SWEET!!! I'm not the only Dr. Who fanatic here!!!!
I hope that if I should ever die a sudden death that some joker cones into my funeral dressed in what I died in, runs up to the casket, presses a sonic screwdriver to me and looks bewildered. Then runs out crying IT DIDN'T WORK!!!!!!
