post your chicken coop pictures here!

Well if u quarantine her in a small space from the others u can easily catch her to socialize with her and maybe if u get her to calm down she won't peck at the other but is she a buff Orpington also as buff orpingtons are a calm gentle breed and if she is a diiferent bred she may have a different type of gentleness if u want to call it that and chickens Will actually peck birds that are more docile like the Silkie and Kept with maybe a Rhode Island Red they have a different temperament so they are gong to want to peck and hurt them until they kill of hurt them

I had a bantam that was protected by and hung out with an isa red. They bunked in the same nest together but a few of the other large hens really were aggressive toward her and would have killed her if she couldn't out fly and out run them.

Part 1 of two :D 98% reclaimed materials all and all about $30 spent on new materials

The only repellent I understand works (from a BYC post) was hanging mothballs in socks around the coop to deter snakes.  Other than that success story and maybe predator eyes or night lights, nothing deters a hungry critter.

Nothing found here to keep predators away but stout security on coop and runs. if they can't get in no problem. The free ranging is the only time we are worried. Freaking hawks, falcons and occasional eagle. So we babysit during ranging time.

Rhode Island Red was just an example as a less docile bird compared to the Silkie

That could be true but she just seems nastier than normal and i think some people have them get along fine so maybe mines just mean. Or someone told me she could just be a hormonal teenager right now and may settle down. I am hoping that's the cause because otherwise she may have to go :/ she is a black australorp and almost always picks on the buff Orpingtons. Maybe is low in the pecking order and can't bully anyone but them or takes it out on them? We have another australorp and as far as i kmow, she is not a bully. So I'm not sure what is up with this one. I'll give her another chance and maybe try separating her once the new run gets built but sadly, if she doesn't improve she may have to go :( she has pecked me a lot too. I think it is just normal chicken behavior of liking shiny objects and sometimes she even acts scared of me so i don't know but she has pecked my gums last week and then yesterday my eye. And she pecked my albow hard once and made a mark

I would defiantly consider departing her for a while and let her be the new one to them flock and work her way back into the flock she should settle down then as it will give the others a chance to be heigher in the order so she will be lower or she can be the highest and if u don't have a rooster some hens will act as the rooster the hen will crow and lead the lady's just like a rooster would do so maybe that's what she is doing how old is she

Thanks! Right now we don't have a place to put her but we are starting work on the new coop today so when that's done, I'll just leave the old coop up and separate her for a week or so. Hopefully that will put her in her place. Not sure if I should move her first and se if the change of territory helps or if I should move the others, lock her up, then move her so they can establish it as theirs? If she is acting like a roo, she is doing a very poor job and I'd probably get rid of that roo haha my Barred Rock, May, sometimes leads the flock around and leads them to me and is very bold and somewhat acts like a roo sometimes and she is nice. They are I think 24 or 25 weeks old.

I like the idea of putting them in a new place and see what she does and then if the still does it separate her for a week int eh old coop and u don't want to let them see her or her see them when in this process
