post your chicken coop pictures here!

They had them on sale at Rural King this spring. 5x6' panels I think we gave around $50 each. So my run is roughly 15x15'.
Thanks for the info, I will definitely look for those to use for our moveable run area -we currently use chicken wire which feels too flimsy. I think your suspended shade cover for your run will be a good deterrent for hawks. We use aviary netting and a 10 x 10 canopy for shade. Someone on BYC recommended "night eyes" to ward off night time predators so we got one, so far we haven't hadn't seen anything come too close on the trail cam yet (knock on wood!) and our area is rife with predators (heavily forested area).

I know my coop doesn't look as fancy or beautiful like the rest of your coops but it's protected my chickens for more than three years so I think it deserves some recognition

You may also be able to find panels or whole runs on Craigslist. We have a 6x12 chainlink dog kennel, 6 feet high, that we're using right now. We got it for free years and years ago when our neighbor moved but around here people are always selling kennels, same size as mine or bigger. Anywhere from $100, $175 up to $300, $400, $500, depending on the person selling it, how big it is, etc. Sometimes even cheaper. Might be a good idea. .

However I've also looked at cattle panels and am currently looking at buying welded wire fencing and putting hardware cloth over the bottom 2 feet. Cheaper than an entirely HC run and more run for the money over kennels. I decided cattle panels for the size run I want are a little expensive for us but they are a great option. You can make them into a hoop coop/run, many great ideas on BYC for that, or you can just use it as a regular panel like it was designed. It's 16 feet long and like 4 feet high so makes a decent sized run for the price. I just would prefer to make my run bigger. Around here it's $21.99 at Tractor Supply. They sell 8 foot long ones too I think

Fancy and beautiful don't keep chickens alive...functional does, though. Three years and no predator losses....your coop looks great to me!!!!

Your chickens look like they're doing pretty good, too!

Best wishes,
