I think I read 4 days on MyPetChicken.com, but it broke my heart to leave mine there that long. I gave mine a lot of supervised time out (but didn't let them free range during the early days). After mine started going out, It probably took another week or so before they consistently went *inside* the coop each night. Mine kept trying to roost on the ramp leading up to the coop... Each night for the first couple weeks, I went outside and picked them up and put them inside the coop to show them. They figured it out pretty quickly and once they got big enough to jump up to the roost, they love it.How long do they need to get locked out there in chicken jail to think of it as home?
