I sent photos of my coop to Backwoods Home Magazine and they have graciously asked me to write a "how to" article regarding its construction. I am super stoked about it. If it gets published I will let everyone know.

I bought my coop from www.GreenGardenChicken.com. I love the coop and so do many of my neighbors. I have so many people that ask where I got the coop from. It was easy to put together and the price was the best i could find after many nights on the internet researching. I built a fence around the coop and will also be adding a roof as well. The chicks are just about ready to go out to their new home. I put in a small coy pool and plan to add some trees for them as well.

I built my coop for Orpingtons. It works great for them. I have since acquired a trio of D'anvers and a quad of Silkie/sizzles. And have noticed the different breeds want different things. The D'anver prefer the swing that I hung in the run for them and the silkies go to ground like rabbit dogs. Every night I have to drag them out from under the raised coop. So this summer the D'anvers will be getting a tall narrow coop designed like an outhouse and the Silkies probably a Dogloo.

This design works well in hot summers and extremely cold winters.
