post your chicken coop pictures here!

The ramp looks a bit steep -- maybe why no one is using the steps? A brick or cinderblock will raise the ladder angle off the floor and you might see more use of it. Keep the ramp for when the hens get older or arthritic. We lessened the angle of steepness in our ladder and all our hens young and old are using it now to get up and down from the nestboxes.

Thanks - I didn't really know how steep was too steep so I just put it together with what I had. I'll prop a cinder block under it and see what happens.

Yep, we didn't know how steep was too steep either until we experimented and found our birds old and young preferred less incline so we put a paver stone under our ladder and the girls started to use it instead of flying or jumping up to the nestbox ledge. Our old ramp had steps/cleats about 3 inches apart but dummy us thought that was too close and made the new ladder with 4 inch step spacing. Not a good decision. We're going back to 3 inch spacing again.

been up 3 mos and so far clean as a whistle. They are too big to even try perching. I have tidy birds......lol
Thanks for imput though.

That is amazing. My birds would be on that sill in a second! A couple of years ago my (now gone) EE missed the auto door closing a few times (could have been intentional since the Anconas "liked" her best to show that they were the top hens). She slept on a 2x4 ledge that is the top of the 4' high wall between the coop and the "feed room". Since the hardware cloth is on the inside of the coop, she had the "full" 3 1/2" wide board to sleep on, next to birds on the other side of the hardware cloth.

It was a lot of work, but we finally finished our coop!

Looks pretty nice! I would give very serious consideration to fashioning something to keep rain and snow runoff from dumping in the run, especially since it is right at the chicken door and ramp.

Thank you!! Yeah, the coop had to be placed that way so we could get in through the double doors. There was no way around it, so we are going to have to figure something out! We are just happy they have more space now.

Here's my little hut I made in a hot second out of scrap wood. My friend needed to desperately get rid of a year old hen that was getting picked on. Decided I would give urban chicken raising a try. Not sure how the neighbors feel about it. Back lifts up for easy access to the feed box and nest) Somehow I aquired another one this weekend :p

Older hen was enjoying the solo life and is having hard time sharing her area.

Is it possible to maybe expand the run a little? Or coop. She may not like it because it's a little cramped. Everything looks to be the right size for a couple but to her it's probably cramped being alone plus she was bottom of the pecking order and now she can be on the top.
