Ours was a tree house at one point and previous owners left it so it's now our giant coop with enough space I side for 20. Outside roofed covered run with an additional 1/4 acre fenced behind to range on. We call it chicken Swiss family Robinson house

This is awesome! Good for you. If I was a chicken I would want to live with you lol

Hey there @Megsswm
Greetings :frow   and :welcome !  Glad you joined us! That's a very nice job you did with the left behind, made to order, chicken coop! ;)

Thanks! My his and did the work part I just designed it and was his assistant. But yes we have 12 very spoiled hens of various breeds...and the setup works pretty well actually. We just added the shingled roof to the run and gutters so we can add rain barrels to catch water and then convert to automatic waterer a this summer

Now thats what im talking about!! That looks exactly like my grand dads coop :) on tbe outside at least. His nest boxes were new idea galvanized metal with round holes in front. Dont recall the perch setup but they ranged all day and got locked up at night and they had a dogy door that could be latched as well. I really miss those days. Life was simple....

I replied but think it got lost in the thread. I was refering to the red barn siding coop. Brings back memories. We used to steal my grammas prune plumbs off the tree next to the coop and caught a large milk snake near it when i was a kid. We thought it was stealing eggs and milking the cows. (Studied herpatology as a biology project later and learned that wasnt likely :)) (I really dont l8k= this text editor or this keyboard, maybe i need to use my tabletore)

The rock wall in the back was already there. Its a part of our car port. After we dug out the coop, we had to add more rock to retains the dirt under the car port. The clean rock on lower half is the new stuff we did. Here are some pictures from the car port from above.
