post your chicken coop pictures here!

canehdianchick.. I love that coop lots of places for roosting.. lots of work :) very nice

I think I'm going to add a mirror in there... I have mixed feelings ... I feel like a mirror could be stressful but haven't read anything as such. Thoughts on mirrors in coops from this forum??

Added some lavender in there today... We are gonna move the chicks to the coop this weekend as our weather has gotten better and they have been getting too busy bodied in their brooder. Close off the run and set up some lamps and give them some more space

Not sure about adult chickens but used a small baby mirror for our single Dom chick so she wouldn't feel alone in her cage by seeing her own reflection. She would nap next to her reflection. Our single juvenile Breda pullet loved to run along the length of a door mirror on the floor and kiss her own reflection and coo to herself in mirror. We had a Breda cockerel that loved to see himself in the oven door glass. So I guess reflections won't damage their psyche any. During quarantine times we notice the solitary chickens like to look at their own reflection in glass doors or mirrors.

THIS WAS THE LITTLE DOM CHICK RAISED ALONE IN A BIRD CAGE SO WE GAVE HER A LITTLE PLASTIC FRAME MIRROR INSIDE HER CAGE TO KEEP HER "COMPANY" AND SHE USED IT TO PECK AT HERSELF AND SLEEP NEXT TO HER REFLECTION. WHEN SHE WAS WITH US SHE PREFERRED BEING WITH US BUT ALONE IN HER CAGE SHE USED THE MIRROR TO TALK TO.

THIS 4-MONTH BREDA PULLET SPENT A LARGE PORTION OF HER SOLITARY DAYS IN FRONT OF THE DOOR MIRROR WE PUT ON THE FLOOR -- SHE WOULD "GROOM" THE PLASTIC BAG WE PUT AT ONE END OF THE DOOR MIRROR.

THIS 5-MONTH BREDA COCKEREL IS STANDING IN FRONT OF THE OVEN GLASS DOOR ADMIRING HIMSELF. SOMETIMES HE PACED LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO JOIN THE "OTHER" COCKEREL INSIDE THE OVEN!

Yes, the fuzzy Breda feet are beautiful. The whole personality and temperament of the breed really impressed us when we tried them. A very hyperactive curious outgoing unafraid bird yet gentle with its flockmates. In future we won't hesitate to get another one.

I'm beginning to think the weather is against me getting ANYTHING done on my poor coop

Everythings been blowing hot and cold, hot and cold, hot or rainy. This week I'm enlisting my grown son's help to get some work done in the chicken yard. With two of us working maybe we can beat either the heatwave or the rain in getting something accomplished!

At least I'm not alone.

I tossed one of the kids balls in to see if they would play with it. No action yet. Mirrors are ok as long as they are not Cardinals. They will kill themselves flying into the mirror thinking their reflection is a rival. I witnessed that on a school bus with convex mirrors. Im surprised he didnt kill himself.
