Folks, could you do those with limited bandwidth a huge favor? When you quote a post with a large number of pictures, PLEASE, delete out all but one or two, that your post is talking about. For those on site using phones, loading all those pictures takes time, and uses data. And when they have to load them 3, 4, 5 times because of re-posts, it's kind of a nightmare. Thanks!

Not saying or asking to censor or cut down, but when one person, the OP, posts 20 pictures, and 4 people quote that post, those 20 pictures have now been posted 5 times! The original post plus the 4 quotes. That's a ridiculous amount of repetition. As you say, trying to load all that sucks.

It doesn't HAVE to be part of being here. There's no need for that.

If you're commenting about one picture, then leave that picture. I always leave at least one photo to make it easier for folks to find the post I'm quoting. But be kind to those who are on phones or limited data... when you QUOTE someone with loads of pics, delete out all but the pic(s) you're commenting on. Please. Not censorship, common sense and common courtesy.

Amen. Latestarter I have said similar things on many posts, people agree AND then go right out and do it again. Post after post with the same half dozen or more pictures

. I am elderly and forgetful but, there is no way to forget the same photos and long quotes several posters feel they need one right after another.

Unless you have your browser deliberately configured to no cache, it should only be downloading the images once per browser session and/or until your cache is purged of the image... After the 1st time down of the image on the page that image should be cached locally on your phone and simply referenced if it appears again not re-downloaded again, thus no extra data download...

Chronic over-quoting, especially in regards to images is definitely frowned upon on many forums, some to the extent that it can earn the offender a time-out/suspension. Where I see a pattern of a user continuously over-quoting other's messages (or even their own) then I just add them to my block list. The caveat with that is that when someone else quotes the offending post is that it will still show up on your device. When I see the posts with loads of images it has to be something *very* technical for me to take the time to review the images....most of the time I scroll through them and never look at them....but, it takes time and bandwidth to download the images to start with so that has already happened.

It basically comes down to respecting and considering other people's possible situations...or not.

Best wishes,
Ed

Cache and disk space is normally not an issue on a tablet or larger, but for those on a phone, it can be an issue. I have deliberately made my cache very small as I don't want megabytes of stuff stored. The larger issue for me is having to scroll past the same pictures, over and over again, while trying to find any "new words" that may have been posted to see what the poster was saying. Regardless. Do you enjoy it? As another said, it sucks. But it doesn't have to.

I think most of us are tired of the persons that hits quote
but does nothing else but put their reply under
but new people do not understand quite often and never told or
guided in how to quote without all that
