We had to put her down though due to water of the lungs so you will have to update me with what color of eggs she will lay I was so excited to see what color she would lay but then the unthinkable happened

I'm sorry to hear you lost your sweet girl. I know EEs and Amer's aren't the same breed but Amer's came from EEs so I consider them related. I haven't had any luck with 3 Amer's from different breeders from different states -- one was a beautiful Blue Ameraucana and 2 were Blue Wheaten Ameraucana. The 4-mo-old Blue Amera was shipped with cocci and worms so bad the vet couldn't save her but the Blue Breda cockerel shipped with her we saved and had to re-home (he was supposed to be a pullet LOL). The two Blue Wheatens were shipped as 2-mo-old juveniles and one died with the sister as the only survivor -- but even she only lived to 3-yrs-old and the vet couldn't save her from cancer. I know it's not true of all blue-egg genes but with them not really being production egg layers and after having bad luck with my 3 Amer's I won't be getting any more any time soon. Amer's and EEs are so fluffy it's hard to keep them clean - they've been our fluffiest under-downed breed ever and don't take our humid SoCal climate very well either. Maybe after the hurt of losing our sweet sweet Blue Wheaten (my avatar) I might try in future a feed store EE chick since our local feed store carries them from a hatchery every Spring. Don't know - I've been having so much luck with Breda and Silkies I'm almost afraid to tip over the apple cart with other breeds - my Silkies are my longest-lived chickens. The more common heavier production breeds like RIR, Legs, Orps, 'Lorps, BRs, Marans, etc, haven't worked very well to keep around our gentler Breda, Silkie, or Amers in our small cottage backyard.

Happier days when it was treats time - the sweet Blue Wheaten Amer is at the back of the treats lineup - she was not a pushy girl and we miss her.

Here is where I am after about 3 weeks of off and on work. (mostly off) I've been told that the wheels are too small. I can change them later if needed. Today, I put the rafters in and framed the front doorway.

Yesterday, I cut out the openings on the 2nd nesting bucket and bolted them in place.

we have 4 breeds creamlegbars light sussex and silkies all the Stoke have to pay for them selves. We have 53 legbars 20 silkies and about 25 light sussex hatch about 400 and 200 ducks and 10 geese. We replace cocks each season and onley hatch from the best. Some of the stock is valuable as egg layers and foundation Stoke. Pics of some.
