Well, I've got bad news about one of my horsey babies... Lil Mitzi. She is a 9 yr Appaloosa and was expecting her own baby! It had been almost a month and we were still waiting on a heartbeat. However, the vet one day just said, when checking for the foal's heartbeat, "You're good to go." And I was like "Yay, she's having a baby!" However, I got down to thinking. Was it a statement saying that she was or wasn't pregnant? So... we turned her out in the field for the whole day with her mama [Big Mitzi] and her best friend [Angel]... When we brought them in for the night [we've got cougars out there so we can't leave them out all night], Lil Mitzi was limping... For some reason, my Lil Mitzi has gone lame. I don't know what she's done but she's limping and showing signs of lameness... She's currently in the medical barn, resting on her side with veterinary surveillance. My poor Lil Mitzi... ;_;

Give it time honey. She could have a real bad stone bruise or tweaked a nerve, there are so may possibilities.
