Well, it's much too big of a thing to just ignore. And it's a way to honor those who lost their lives, and try to bring comfort to all the families who were affected by it. And as it's the tenth anniversary, and the first one since bin Laden was killed, it's probably going to be fussed over more than others.
But it's totally fine if you don't 'get it', everybody's different!
