Post Your First Egg Pics-Part 2

The first egg of my exbatts was laid in the cardboard box, as they didn't get off immediately, they were too scared. It was the only egg of the day. The next days I found one or two eggs scattered everywhere, but not in the nest box and I've noticed that some of them expelled the egg even standing up. Little by little they learned to use the nest boxes and to pick the straw to make the nest more confortable. About a week later I've had a surprise: I found eleven eggs under a dry lavender bush in the garden... wonderful!

I have an blue ameraucana that is black. I saw her sitting in the nest box and thought she was going to try for her first. Then after I found a tan egg with spots, that had a bit of blood (first egg) and I got sad because I was waiting for her blue egg. Then I realized it was a larger egg from my BLRW who just started to lay See pic of the little round egg, and the Ameracauna was just practicing her sit.

First egg today! No idea which one of our three laid it - I heard some commotion but thought it was the neighbour‘s cat giving them hassle. We’ve got a coucou Maran, a light Sussex and a Bluebell; I think it was the Maran or the bluebell, as they’ve been squatting. Whoever it was laid it in the Middle of the lawn though 🙄

I'm guessing Sussex by the color. :)
