One of my Black Stars Evelyn laid our first egg at about 23 weeks!

SO excited tasted amazing..

I have 2 Black Stars and an Amber Dekalb.. hoping to be at full till in the coming weeks.

Also have 2, 1 month old Silver Hamburgs and a Sultan a ways off yet to be sure.

My hens first egg as compared to a store bought white LARGE. I now have two hens out of 13 laying.

OT - kinda'. Home safely -- 4 eggs today. "Minnie" B-Dk Brn Leghorn has started laying again -- her first eggs in

my flock after being broody and hatching a Maylay Pullet!

Our first eggs!!

Not exactly sure which two hens laid them, but I have a good idea. I'm pretty sure one was my Delaware, and I think the other is my Dominique. The Barred Rock is getting close, too. And, surprisingly, my White Cochin is REALLY squatting and they're supposed to be very slow to mature and lay.

They're small and cute! I'm looking forward to LOTS more!!!

It seemed like we waited FOREVER for them to lay! 21 weeks old to the day. Now if I can just get them to use the nest boxes. LOL!!
