My girls finally layed their first egg, don't know yet who done it but I'm so very excited !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SOOO excited! My brother-in-law (aka "the chicken-sitter" while we're out of town) just sent me the message that we have our first SKY BLUE egg this morning! I can't wait to see it - and wish he would text or email a photo of it. Our Ancona has been laying for a week, but a white egg is not that exciting. I was so eager to see the first blue egg. I don't know which of my EEs it was, but they all are 24 weeks old today.

We found the first egg from my babies today. They are 21 weeks old and we aren't sure which one of the 5 actually laid the egg but I think it was probably Batman (yeah, I know.. not the best name) It was such a cute little bitty thing. Unfortunately she decided to lay on top of the feed barrel instead of the nest box and the end got cracked.. but we are still excited and hopeful that her aim will soon improve.

My first egg!!. First two actually, maybe she left me one yesterday and I missed it!

She acted a little broody and wouldn't move off the nest at first but after a few minutes she moved away.

So excited!!!

Just got it a couple days ago!!! three since then!

This is the first egg of ours that happened today! And I am new to chickens. First flock. Very first egg. I think it was made by my biggest hen Helen... Don't know for sure. It is small. Almost 2 inches long and about 1 inch wide.

We got our first egg (light blue) with our first chickens! It's so exciting! I may take off work tomorrow.
