I hadn't been expecting eggs quite yet, but at 19 weeks, and in unison, the Dellas laid these this morning!

I do have smallish hands, but I noticed they're not too much smaller than the ones from the market. You have Delawares-- I've heard they lay larger eggs. True in your experience?

It finally happened! Our first chicken egg!!!!!!! Our 3 girls are all over 6 months old. Ok they have probably been laying for about a month, but this is the first one we have found! She layed it in the duck house of all places. I feel like such a proud chicken mommy!!!

They are supposed to lay large to jumbo eggs. The ones I've seen so far have been about medium. Waiting for my really big ones to come along but then my girls are very young yet.

This is my favorite hen, Dic-Z... Named by my teenagers. Dic-z likes to ride on the golf cart w me! She is my first hen to lay an egg, and she is awesome! Here is a pic of her first egg, and I have man hands!!!
