3/3 on our first day! Of course, they were laying before we got them, so I'm not too surprised. Still, I'm happy!

And last (for now) but not least, my first eg from my Black Australorp. She is 22 1/2 weeks old and I got he as a day old shipped in the mail.

We also got our first egg on 3/3/13 and it was perfect and beautiful. It was also a double yolker.

My rooster will sing the egg song with all the new layers the first time they lay an egg. It's pretty cute, although very loud!

I love hearing the egg song. I even recorded it ans is now a ring tone on my cell phone. People sure do look at me strange when my phone rings now. Lol

I got my very first girls about a month and a half ago and got my very first egg ever about two weeks after that. I was sitting outside watching the chickens when Cortana, my Welsummer went up into the coop. About ten minutes later she came back down so I rushed over to open the nesting box door and there it was. It was so fresh the coloring was still wet and started to rub off, which is why I grabbed a paper towel before I took the picture. Out of my 4 pullets I currently have two laying, the Welsummer and Henrietta, a Rhode Island Red. Still waiting on Michonnne the Barred rock and Daisy, an EE
