it was wierd the bigger hens laid this very small egg and i did research on it

they lay small eggs when they have stopped laying for some time and if you get enough some restruants will pay high dollar for them cause they have no yolk
 
Hi all im Ian, I notice that alot of people on here are mainly from the good old US of A...
sadly I'm not, I'm in the Northwest of the UK.


Thought i would say hi and post my 1st egg picture and join in with you across the pond.

our 1st egg 26th March 2013
compared to shop bought

there where another egg but it was unusable as it had no shell
the day before but cant really count that as an egg??


the little lady that produced this :)

Jezzabelle - Now @ 26wks [only hen laying so far]

this was taken at 22wks she now has a lovely red crest on her head and lobes

Sussex Hybrid [so i have been told] the hen hiding in the background is Bear, she is a Black Rock also a hybrid




we have five hens

Jezzabelle
[other white no name yet] = Sussex [white]

Bear
Libby = Black Rock [Brown & Gold]

Magpie = Magpie [Gray & Black]

Ian- beautiful birds! Congratulations on your first eggs, I have gotten shell-less eggs before. Typical for first timers.

Welcome Ian from the UK! Very exciting to receive your first egg isn't it?! You have a lovely assortment of hens, they look very pretty. My hens are going through a mini moult right now, so no eggs. Anyway, welcome to BYC, enjoy your eggs!!
