Our White Leghorn (Fred) has been laying since Monday, and on Thursday our Red Sex-Link (Red) joined in.

Can't wait for our three Easter Eggers (Shed, Olive & Goldie) to join in as well.

Chop up Kale really fine and feed a 1/2 cup a day. Hard shells in no time if its a deficiency. I feed fermented feed and will sprinkle some on their breakfast serving.

I would be happy to have hard shell eggs.

I got my first egg today! I went out to see if I needed to clean the coop this morning and it did need cleaning but I waited till noon. At noon when I went out I opened the nesting box to clean and there it was! Beautiful medium brown egg.

I'm sure as she gets older they will be larger eggs. I'm not sure who layed it either. My first 4 chickens are only 17 weeks old. An RIR, a production red and 2 sexlinks. I'm suspicious of the black sexlink. She's the biggest and more mature looking. In any case the find was very exciting! Lol

is 2.25" long by 1.5" wide. .

The middle egg is my first egg 3 days ago, on the left is a friends mature hen extra large, on the right is the egg I found today

So the egg from 3 days ago and an egg from today, I put them on the white background to show maybe the difference in color better, Do we think this could be the same hen? Texture of the shell is a bit different too? Only other thing is 2 days ago I had a rubber egg?

Looks like 2 different girl's to me! I have 4 RSL's, 3 are laying (just recently) and even though they're the same breed, I can tell their eggs apart. Yay, you have 2 girls laying for you and it will become more steady and regular soon!

This is the first 3 eggs from our 3 girls but one is now just laying shelless eggs, they have all the right food but making no difference :-(
