Yep, I thought, well, we'll get some chickens. Then came the research...then came the coop and run, then came the chickens, then more research...more chickens, more research, MORE coop and run... so rewarding!!!! And alot of time and work, but worth every minute!

Oh yeah. So worth it, I love my chickens, spending time with them is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done.

Who knew that chickens could be so challenging, so loving (and so mean at the same time!), so intriguing? I feel like I'll never learn enough about them, always need to get more and learn more. Love them SO much!

My EE finally started laying last weekend! Can't decide if the eggs are blue or green in color. My 2 Welsummers started laying last month and 1 of them lays lightly speckled eggs sometimes. These are my first chickens ever so it is a very gratifying experience!

Gorgeous eggs! Congratulations!

Chicken keeping has got to be one of the best things ever.

I bought 6 chicks (Adverised as Ameraucanas) last August. This is the first two eggs that were layed a couple days ago. Obviously NOT Ameraucanas. Was looking for those pretty colored blue eggs. Got these green ones. Anyone in agreement that I have Olive Eggers??

It's my understanding that they can lay either blue or green. In which case, you got the right ones. There's no way to tell in advance whether they'll lay blue or green eggs. They may not even bee the same shade all the time as they are now. Sorry you were hoping for blue eggs.
