Pretty sure my other duck finally gave us an egg!! It's color and shape are {slightly} different and it was laid in the coop and the others were laid in the run.

Nice big egg. I got 3 duck eggs this a.m., so at least one of them was a first timer.

So I was going out to the coop today to do the routine stuff, fill up the feeder, make sure the water is clean, and throw them some scratch. I opened the coop door and sat down my scoop full of feed and as I was checking the water something caught my eye. It was a beautiful brown egg! For a split second I thought to myself "Who put this egg in here'? I was caught completely off guard! I wasn't expecting eggs until March! And here I just got my first one and its not even February yet! Not sure if I'm just really lucky or if I just did the egg math wrong. Either way today has been an awesome day!



Not sure who is came from yet. I have 4 hens, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Red Star, and 2 Black stars

Holy cow! I just found a second one in their run, its a little smaller than the one I found earlier today!

First two eggs from my small flock, no idea who the layer was, but I have a feeling it was Lyra, my Easter egger

the Left one was first, day before yesterday and the second was found today, I love the speckles on the second one xD

Wow! I'm glad to hear.... I have a 36 week old who hasn't laid. I would never cull her but wasn't sure if she would ever lay.

I posted a comment about my 36 week old never laying and guess what! I heard a lovely egg song and thought it came from Yzma but nope! Its Aspens! She finally laid! Its so tiny!

I think one of my Easter Eggers laid their first egg, a soft shell egg, while they were roosting.





Pictures are at 26 weeks of age.

They are 30 weeks now.
