The tiny egg in this pic was laid by one of my Welsummers. It was her first egg, and she laid it right in front of my doorstep. Now she lays large size eggs in the coop (not in front of the doorstep).
AWWWWWWWW!! Another 'baby' egg. This is the smallest one I've gotten so far, like a marble

like someone else stated- The size & shape def reminds me of a swallow egg or a humming bird egg.

I didn't take a picture before cracking the egg because I thought my neighbor was playing a joke on me, because the first egg showed up at just 16 weeks - I wasn't expecting any until about 20 weeks. I didn't believe it was really our "first egg" until I cracked it in the frying pan and it had three small yolks in it!!
How wonderful. That is a very pleasant surprise for you...not so much for your pullet OUCH!! I recently was gifted w/ a dinosaur egg of my own. I will be cracking it open soon to see if it's just 2 big yolks or what.

We just ate our egg! I am surprised, though I was hoping that my eggs would have a dark yolk and taste better, I really didn't think it would be true! The yolk was a dark orangie yellow and we scrambled it and fried it with only a touch of salt so we could get a good taste of only the egg! It was really good! I can't put my finger on which flavors were so different, but it was flavorful and rich and indeed different from store bought eggs in a good way.

Yaaay, this may be my first farm fresh egg since visiting my Uncle in Germany when I was 9 years old! Too cool!

No doubt the eggs taste better that we all are getting, and the yokes so creamy, but the biggest difference that I notice from eating my farm fresh eggs is the white of the eggs. Most of the store bought eggs that I bought have that rubbery, don't even want to eat consistancy to them,, and no taste at all. Well, the whites from my fresh eggs are delicious! Almost like a meaty fluffy type of feeling. I don't mind egg white omlettes at all now! And if I pass on the yokes because I think I've eaten far too many in a week, I just cook them up, and the chickens devour them! lol..

Congrats on the first eggs cluck-cluck!

Thanks so much! No egg since, but it's winter, and quite all right! Next egg I'm going to boil! That's how I like to eat them but we thought trying a simple fried egg with everything mixed together would give us a good indication of flavor (and it did!) but I see now, not texture! Also, that way everyone could get a bite of everything from the egg, LOL. Husband comes home from Texas tomorrow, so I hope we get some eggs today and tomorrow 'cause I'd love to make him an omelet or something! See what he thinks! He makes a great Quiche, can't wait to taste one made from our own eggs!!! So much to look forward to!

Ah, the video is working today :) I wasn't sure what you meant so I figured it was a post somewhere long past, LOL! Love your enclosure and your birds (cool guineas!)

I got my second egg today, not sure who it was this time but very much the same size, just not entirely the same shape ;P Penny came in the coop when I went to look, could it be hers?

Ah well, it's really fun to get these eggs! I can't wait until more of my hens are laying!
