Those are really a lovely grouping of eggs! How many EEs do you have? I bought mine mostly because of the brown eggs, (then I threw an EE in there for the heck of it). I didnt realize how many different colors of brown their were! One of my Barred Rocks lays a practically pink egg. Now I wish I had gotten a chocolate layer, an Olive layer and another EE. My EE lays a green/blue egg, but I assume that those will come into many different shades too. I cant do that, because my coop is a little tight as it is. I will have to wait. I'm sure that my flock will cycle out over the years.

I have 4 EE pullets and 1 EE roo, one pullet is a BR/EE so I am hoping for a pink egg from her!! They are only a couple months old right now so it will be a bit before our first eggs from them, I am already eggcited

The girls laying now are my 3 RSL,1 white leghorn and my silkie hen. I also have 3 silkie eggs due to hatch this week in my bator!! Today is lockdown

it is my first hatch!! I am still waiting patiently on my 24 week old cochin girl to lay her first egg, I think she is trying to make me crazy squatting when I pet her and flying up to the nesting boxes lol!! One of my RSL is more golden and lays a lighter brown egg than her brooder sisters, theirs is a deeper brown. I would love to have a chocolate colored egg in my basket but I will wait till spring lol. I need more room too!!

Got another 'FIRST' egg this weekend. One of our Red Pullets gave us our first brown egg! We're up to 3 eggs per day now, with only 3 out of the 7 chickens laying so far!

I had my first 5/7 day today. I have no idea which girl joined the club! Sounds like we are on similar paths.
