We got our first egg today. Twenty weeks, from one of our Dark Brahma's.

That's when our chickens started laying!!!!

Yay! Our RIR finally laid her first egg!!! She's 20 weeks old today.


Her egg is on the right, our Buff Orp's 8th egg is on the left!

They are gorgeous!!! Congratulations! Can I ask how old your EE is that laid? Those are nice sized eggs!

Thanks! We're pretty excited about them! Not quite sure how old she is exactly . . . we brought her home as a days-old chick from the local livestock/farm supply shop (so maybe 2-3 days old?) on April Fools day. I don't think she was older than a few days, since she was all fluff and had no real wing feathers for a several days after that. If we count April Fools as her hatch date, she was 25 wks exactly, so 25wks plus a few days?

First Black Copper Marans egg between Easter Egger and Sex Link eggs. Yay!! Finally. Hopefully she darkens up but great either way! Good girl.
