I just got the teeniest, tiniest first egg I've ever seen! Roadrunner, a little Silver Duckwing OEGB x Golden Sebright cross, is a sweetie but is also one of those chickens that can never ever be caught. She laid her first egg in the duck coop behind the duck nest this morning. Good thing I found it before the drake did, because he would have eaten it in a heart beat!

This is super cute, the egg only weighs half an ounce! Here's proud little Roadrunner.

Found our first tiny egg today, I saw one of our Redstars sitting in a nesting box last night while I was watching the webcam and here it sits right next to the golf balls (guess the golf ball trick is legit lol)

as for the age, our Redstars are 4 months 9 days old today... not exactly sure which one it was... hmmmmmm

First egg by one of hubby's 2 RIRs:)
How do I get them to stop scratching all the hay out of the nesting box and lay in it?:) lol.

I got that about 4-5 tall and they literally scratch it out, I'm thinking it may just be because they are still young and just started laying:/..

Does the litter in the run look like the litter in the boxes? Mine are basically the same, as I throw scratch in the run, I think they are looking for food in the boxes as well.....
