Post your FIRST EGG pics!

My Black Australorp, Moonpie, has been laying for 6 days!
I just found them all today She turned 5 months on Oct 21st. I was there when she was born in my friend's classroom!
She was ducking in these old wooden chairs in our back yard that are overgrown with weeds... I HEARD her first one morning making the weirdest clucking noises.
It was like she was trying to tell me something. I think that the egg was just a bit too small and I didn't look far enough back in the weeds.
She has had this new 'song' now since she started laying, and I kind of thought that's what she was trying to tell me. Is-
"LOOK i laid an EGG!"
She clucks away for about an hour every morning after she goes in there....
So funny. My son said she was imitating his alarm clock. Okay, so the picture of the 6 eggs went from my phone to the computer- but I've been looking for it for 30 mins to post here- and I still can't find the photo to post it.... I hope that if I try again, it will reveal itself.... maybe b/c I loaded the pic after I began this post?

No sir, their food is in a wide Rubbermaid tubber-ware dish, and fresh hay in the one box, I only have one because only one is laying and I'm hoping the other will start laying in the box as well, then when I notice the other laying I will add another box

Here is our first egg. Our hen laid it yesterday. She laid an egg today too..

this is our first egg held by my son josh once we cracked it open in the pan with just 1 more egg this was the result

a triple tiller and double yolker kids were thrilled

THAT IS SOOO AWSOME! I can't wait till one of my girls lays a double or TRIPLE yoker!

So we have a couple of pullets that we bought as "4 month olds" back in late August/early September. I had my doubts as to them actually being that old but am not quite sure of their exact age. They could have just been developing slowly due to feeding, environment, etc. I dunno. Anyway, for the past couple of weeks the Buff Orpington and White Leghorn have been getting redder and redder in the face and their little wattles have been growing a bit. The Leghorn, Angel is also starting to get a nice sized comb on her. It's sort of been a contest between those two as to which would finally lay the egg first. Yesterday I had a nice sit down talk with the whole coop and told them I'd really REALLY love to see an egg from one of them soon.

This morning I fed them and let them out as usual. And about half an hour later I heard a song I haven't heard since I was a kid and we had our flock of RIR's and Barred Rocks. That oh so familiar "I just laid an egg and my butt HURTS!!!" I heard it and even mentioned to my hubby that that's what it sounded like. Didn't bother to check the nest boxes and coop though because I've been doing that every morning for nearly a month now and the disappointment upon finding no egg I can only compare to walking downstairs on Christmas morning and finding no presents under the tree. So I didn't even bother to check because I didn't want to be sad again. lol XD

So just a little while ago I went out and grabbed the rooster and trimmed his beak a bit (he's got a slightly crossed beak) The batteries in the PediPaws I trim his beak with died. So I came back in and put them on to charge. Went back out, filled the food and water for the quail in the next pet and sorta nonchalantly took a peek into the coop. Nothing as I expected. Went around back to the nest box door, opened it up and I swear I heard that "Angels in heaven singing" sound. "Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!" There was a wonderful little white egg! So I ran around the yard squeeing like an idiot. And here's the pictures.

Actually not a bad size for a first egg I don't think. I'd call it medium sized. I am as excited right now as I was when my kids took their first steps. I feel like such a dork. I've seen many chickens lay many eggs over the years. But this one is special because it's MY little chicken in MY little coop in MY little yard. I'm so proud of my baby!
