I got my first egg today. 5 rir hens with 1 rooster. April hens. I was wondering when they would start. So exciting.

We got this wonderful sweetest hen ever on the 21st. She gave us her first egg today! Congrats Bonnie!

The free chickens I got, one was already laying eggs. Just took 3 weeks for her to give me one

I'm sure this one came from the rir. The others are still too young. The barred rocks are only about 11 weeks old, and the game hens are only maybe 15(?) weeks old. I guess because the rir is the largest, and the others are still small.
