First egg, from one of my 17 week old Golden Comets! They are mostly small pullet eggs, but since this we have gotten about two a day, so far 9 altogether, three of which were double-yolkers. Very rich and tasty!

We got our first egg on Friday, June 27 from our little 18 week old Red Sex Link. She's laid one every day since, for a total of 4 as of this morning. They are small, but perfect! I expect one of our EEs isn't far behind...comb and wattles very red and if I so much as walk past her she squats and stays there for a little bit, just what Ida did about a week before laying her first. She is also beginning to check out the nest boxes.

My little eggie compared to a store bought one. I had just washed it preparing to cook it up!

First Easter Egg,

they stayed in the coop all morning taking turns sitting in the nest & guarding the door while singing there happy nesting song.

After they left in the afternoon I checked the nest but all they did was bury the plastic egg I had in there.
When I put them to bed Shela squatted for me & let me pet her. I then went and toped up the water dish and saw this small blue egg right there on the ground. Sure it came from Shela.

We hatched our Girl's on 20 Jan 2014, one was a Roo so we traded him for a sex link when he was about 8 weeks old. Two Copper Marans(Marilin(White) & Audrey(black/green) and our sex link Lucille. Love these girl to death! Marilin laid her first egg yesterday at about 19 weeks old.
