wow that's a great size for a first egg. My BAs first was only 25g and she's been laying 3 1/2 weeks now and it's up to 40g now but 51g is awesome!I FINALLY got my first egg! Yippeee!! It is 51 g, not bad for a first. I have no idea who layed it. I have an ISA brown, an amber white, and a NHR who are all red and squatting. I also have a BR who is red but won't let me get close enough to see if she squats. She hates me. I guess it could be her. Its so hot and buggy that I don't spend a lot of time out there. I'm not sure how I will ever find out who lays what.
I wonder how big her eggs will be after a few weeks then!! Actually I don't think it would have mattered to me if it was teeny tiny I would still be so excited!wow that's a great size for a first egg. I sit here and watch them in the coop as they lay their eggs via a camera trained on the egg boxes! LOL!!! I email my sister daily and give an "egg report." Maybe after several weeks of all four of our girls laying I'll get used to it.....or not! My sister said she actually enjoys my reports! It makes HER feel like a farmer reading up on the daily report!Ya we were so excited for that first little egg. We found it doing morning chicken chores before the kids went to school and it threw our morning off. We were so excited that the kids were almost late for school, my daughter ate her breakfast in the car and my son went with his hair sticking up all over. But it was an exciting day. Can't believe one little egg can cause so much excitement.
