Got our first egg on monday from either our white or brown leghorn. We can't figure out which one it is yet. So far we have had an egg a day.

I got at least one, but I think 2 first eggs today. I think the small light speckled is from my sussex (which was layed in the run) and the other from my java, which was on the coop floor.

There's a chance the one in the coop was from my BSl, but she's always laid in the nesting box and it's a little pinker than her eggs have been. Thoughts?

We have our first eggs!!
Please see the picture. We found the 3 pretty brown eggs on Saturday and found the 2 lighter brown eggs this morning. They are all pretty small and I put a store bought large white egg next to them for comparison. We are not sure which hen these belong to. We have 1 Silkie, 4 Rhode Island Reds, 5 Golden Sex Links, and 5 Cukoo Morans. We bought all of them on 03/31/16 and we were told they were a few days old. Any help identifying the hen would be greatly appreciated.

First egg from my golden comet, Weezee. On her 4 months birthday 7/30/16 at approximately 4:30pm.
She was running around doing the chicken song that says I laid an egg. I looked for an egg, found none.
Apparently she was looking for a place to lay.
I didn't put the nest boxes in the coop till the day before.
So I called her to me and I put her in the nest and shut the access door and waited. 25 minutes went by and 1 of her sisters ran up the ramp into the coop and she jumped up onto the lower roost which is at a 90 degree angle to the nest. I could see this through the window. And she walked up to the nest and comforted or cheered her on. I don't know which. 5 minutes later the I laid an egg song.
Her sister came out of the coop, and 10 minutes later, out comes Weezee, hot and exhausted wings held out.
She stop to get a drink and drink she did, about 5 minutes.
I petted her and thanked her. Her egg is brown the white one is ceramic

My first egg - found 24 hours ago. I have found 4 more since then from my 3 hens, aged 18 weeks. Only 2 of the 5 look normal in size and color. The last one has a very soft shell. I'm going to pick up some oyster shell for them tomorrow. I am SO pleased with my girls! I have 2 sex-linked 'red comet' and a barred rock.
