Got my first egg ever today! Since I have all EE's that are at POL I thought it would have been more fitting to get a green egg being St. Patty's Day and all but I'll take what I got anyway!!!

i got my very first egg yesterday!!

one of my 2 EE girls, 23 weeks old, laid it- not in a nest box of course, but in the corner of the coop. i didn't care. it was beautiful and perfect. i didn't even realize that my first egg was a green one laid on St. Patrick's Day!

the one on the bottom is a large store-bought. my first egg wasn't a bad size!

so, went out this morning to feed and, guess what?!?! a second egg!

this was from my gimpy little Wyandotte Madeline (pictured with the first one and the store-bought)

and, the beautiful yolk from the green one as i was about to EAT IT this morning!

came home this afternoon and found another brown egg!

i'm soooooo eggcited!

My black bantam cochin pullet Cochina laid her first egg on Monday, the day before she turned 5 months old

She laid her second on Tuesday,

her third on Wednesday

, took Thursday off and laid me another this afternoon! What a good girl!

I took several pictures but this is the only clear one. #1 at 3, then 2, 3 and 4 clockwise around the store-bought ExLg egg in the center. I think they are beautiful!

We've had our chooks for 6 weeks and today our first 3 eggs! (from 5 girls)

They layed them in the straw behind the coop!
