I didn't figure my easter eggers would be laying first! Everybody tells me that they tend to lay late, so I was totally expecting my first egg to be from a wellsummer or a barred rock!

I got my first egg from my BO about 3 and a half weeks ago (my barred rocks were laying when I got them) and then yesterday when I came home from work there was a little perfect brown egg in the nest box with my barred rock daily egg and of course my BO egg was in the other nest box I am so excited now both my BO are laying so if my EE would just catch on now. Also this morning there was a small shell less egg and just a yolk laying under the roost. Has anyone ever had there hens lay just a yolk?

YAY eggs!!!!!

Tuesday I found an egg in the nesting box:ya

Then on Wednesday afternoon I found 2 eggs in the run:( One was the same shape as the first egg and the other was rounder and

a little chalky but both we're beautiful. So I guess that my 22wk old BR and RIR have begun laying, now I just have to wait for my 2 BO's to start, Neither of them are squatting yet but both look ready.
It's almost 5pm and no egg today but it is 95 degrees here today.
Congrats to eveyone who is getting their 1st eggs, they are worth the wait:celebrate
The small eggs are from our chickens the lg white one is store bought.

Hooray! found our first egg today- right in the nesting box where it should be! The girls will be 19 weeks tomorrow. I admit I screamed like a little girl when I saw it in the box, I was so excited!
