....spend that money on making coop uber secure at night and/or electric poultry netting(unless you have an uber secure run) for daytime deterrence.

i finally caught the fox on camera.. i kept seeing fox prints in the snow.. the time makes me uncomfortable, as there are only 2 days a week when i have to leave the house by 6 a.m. and open the coop door then.. the fox doesn't seem too interested in the coop and i try to make sure no food is left outside to attract them..

Might have more to do with your age than your tenure as a chicken keeper,
if you're much younger than my 58 years as it's kind of an old fashioned idiom,
not sure it's widely used anymore.

But if you are letting your birds free range early and late,
hell and even in the middle of the day once they have babies to feed,
you might seriously think about a secure run as those fox do like a chicken dinner.

Probably should keep politics out of the forum, but I wholeheartedly agree with you. How we elected someone with no political experience amazes me. The fact we survived the past 8 years is a miracle.
