I thought the camera would be here today but now the tracking says tomorrow. Apparently the memory card goes in the bottom. My camera that just died had the memory card slot in the bottom.
Got the camera. So far I like it. I put on a tree pointing towards the coops. I set it to turn on at 9pm and off at 6am. It came with a 4gb micro SD card. I will replace it with a higher capacity card eventually but for now I'll use the 4gb card. I have an adapter to read the card but with the viewer built into the camera and the ability to format the card in the camera I probably won't need another card.
So far, I have not had much issue with the memory card being on the bottom, though I am not thrilled with those teensy ones that most of the cameras are using, but because of the view screen, I don't have to take it in and out as much, either. It was something that gave me pause at first.
Another thing I was not thrilled to see on some cams when doing research was the "remote" some come with, which is really the only way to program those cameras, or some of them. That would mean that if you stomp on it accidentally or lose it, you are sunk. I think that for the money, this SAVA really can't be beat. I leave mine on all the time because, being pointed at the back pasture, it doens't get overworked, except maybe on grass cutting days. I see they keep changing the price of it by a few bucks up or down. At least you get memory card with it now, which I did not, though I paid a few bucks less than I've seen it since I left my review. I was the first to review it so I took a chance buying it. But, so far, so good.
Ii did take a couple of videos last night. The pictures were good. I don't know what set the camera off because I didn't see anything in the videos. I put the timer on so it will be on in standby from 9pm to 6am (dusk to dawn) and sense motion, when I have seen the most predator activity, and off during the day. I noticed since I bought mine the price has gone up $3.00. I'll check the settings maybe I have the sensitivity too high. I had a hard time viewing the screen this morning as the camera in pointing towards the east and the sun affected seeing a good picture in the viewer. I also noticed this same camera is marketed under several different names but they all look alike. Senwow is one Abask is another, Crenova, Best, Sava and I'm sure there are a few more names.
I did notice what seemed to be the same or almost the same camera with other names. I saw one that was identical get a good review but this one at the time was less expensive. You can set the sensitivity of course. At times, I thought there was nothing in the picture, then I'd see a crow on a branch or the back foot of a deer leaping away or a rabbit or other low creature almost camouflaged. During high wind times, a branch or tall grasses waving will set it off. Mine has been set to medium sensitivity and it's rare that I can't find what set it off. I do think it does a better job than the much more expensive StealthCam.
These are all from the StealthCam by the driveway. We've had torrential rains, which you can see in the pics. And that doe thinks she should be a dependent, I suppose! She hangs around very close to the house. I think it's the same one that is in the pasture almost every night close to the gate, about the same size anyway.
My rooster, Hector, poses better for the game cam than he does for me.
