Post Your Game Cam Pics Here!!!

Pics
Just killed one BIG raccoon, but found a ton of HUGE tracks tonight. This is what was on the cam. He likes pizza

so I'll be resetting my traps tomorrow!

The photos look starkly black and white and super-bleached out because there is WHITE sand on the ground that really reflects the IR flash very brightly. Plus the dog is black and the ground is white. hehe

Here's the guy who helps himself to the occasional chicken dinner at my expense. I left the run gate open, but the door to the chicken house was closed. He seems a little upset about the closed door.

Here he is a couple nights later. This time the gate to the run is closed. You'd almost think I outsmarted him, but he'll be back. I've come to accept that he's smarter than I am.

I like to pretend like there's just the one, but I live in the woods. Raccoons and other predators are plentiful. I could stay up all night every night shooting predators and never get them all. Best I can do always remember to get the birds locked up at night. If I forget and leave the hen house open, it's my fault if I lose one, the varmints are just doing what they were made to do. Not that I'm opposed to shooting one if I catch it in the act, but there aren't enough hours in the day to eradicate the local raccoon population.

My thoughts exactly.

This guy has to go though ~ he has been getting into my run at night through the aviary netting on top. I set a live trap last night and these photos are all I got.

He manage to eat the bait and not trip the trap. It is a 2 door trap and I had both doors open ~ tonight I will only set 1 door open and set the bait at the very back! I'm sure he will be back tonight to see if I left him any more tuna cat food and marshmallows!

julie, neat pics.

HOW is he getting in with your netting on top?

1. Tore a hole in it and now goes in that way?

2. Netting not fully attached all the way around, so he found an opening he could climb through?

We wanna see pics of that baby in the trap. Go go!!

Actually he is coming down that tree you see in the photo. The netting is fastened around the tree and there is enough slack (gap) that he can squeeze through. The purpose of the netting is really to keep hawks out and the chickens in. I know it will not keep racoons out. I am very careful to make sure my chickens are all locked up at dusk.

I am trying to figure out a way to better secure the netting around the tree, however I am sure that he would have no problems tearing though it if he wants in. The netting is a very heavy duty aviary netting, but is no match for a determined coon!
