You're not doing anything wrong... some people don't appreciate chickens! *gasp* LOL, me too... its raining now and I just treated Glorys foot and I had her in the shed where all my medicines are, and she was being a good girl, standing still while I put it on.... next thing I know, I lift her up to put her back in her tarp covered run when I see WHY she was standing so still..... she had gone the bathroom in my shed.
Oh well... off to clean the shed now.

That's what I say! One of the neighbours FOR my chickens called me at 9:30 last night to tell her someone asked her to write a letter to the village complaining. She called us and we promptly called the mayor and said this is completely uncalled for. It was not a complaint against the noise (we have a rooster who does crow, which is not prohibited in the bylaws), but they complained about the POSSIBILITY of a smell in the summer. Really though? We've had them in August (the hottest month here!) and had no issues with smell. They are not overcrowded, I use DL method, so I stir or let them stir the litter every morning. We have two runs we rotate them between so neither turns into a mud pit.. What am I doing wrong? I will end up moving if they put a new law in place because of us. If I had eggs now I would have brought them to neighbours, but I only have two hens producing, which is barely enough to feed US.
I am like you! Every 1/2 hour
Everyone thinks I'm crazy! I would rather spend my time with the chickens than with other people
