So an update on little stormy...my sole hatchling of 9 eggs purchased from eBay and mostly scrambled by USPS...stormy, now called Booger, hatched out a beautiful yellow, no gray except for a small grayish stripe down his/her back.....so I thought, "i got a lavender! Allriiiiiiiight!!"
......noooooooo.....Booger is looking more and more royal palmish every day...getting the black striping on the back, and feathering out pure white. Not that I really mind, bc he may be a palm x slate or pure palm, bc the breeder has both, but they really should have marked their eggs better.

Will post photos in a bit:rolleyes:

Aww! I would love to have RP's someday. I hear very good things about them.

One thing I will say about little Booger, he is VERY cuddly and actively wants to be with you. Even to the point where he protests if you've got him out and are not 100% focused on him. He's like a cat who will sit or stand in front of your computer or iPad screen until you stop doing what you're doing and pay attention to him. He sits on my shoulder, cuddles up on my neck, but will also peck you in the eye if the mood strikes, so you gotta be careful. I even made him his own little bed right next to my side of the bed, and he's sleeping there now.

Silly turkey....and generally speaking, hes really good about not pooping on you, UNLIKE a certain parrot of mine who considers it her life's mission to poop on me every time she can. I think she even holds it sometimes so she can drop a bigger load on me. Evil birdy.....

Wow, he sounds very attached! I had a couple of BBW's last year that were clingy, though not quite to that extent. They'd cry so that I'd come to see what was wrong, then wanted to follow me around everywhere, even into the house. They would wait on the porch for me to come back out.

I was wondering which heritage Turkeys seem to grow the largest but are still able to reproduce successfully naturally. I just want some advice because I have 2 sweetgrass (boy & girl) and one royal red palm girl.

I read somewhere that the Black Spanish breed is the largest or one of the largest breeds that can reproduce on it's own. I would have to verify that, though, so I may not be right.
