I think eggs per year depends on the bird, some of my girls stopped laying in November and started laying in January.

I know. I have vowed to not throw any more away. I only get two a day or maybe three on some days.. So I will keep them and ...... not sure what I will do with them.. but won't throw them over the hill anymore. May try baking with them.

I do scramble them sometimes and feed them to the chickens and other poultry. Ducks and geese wont eat them, but the chickens and turkeys do.

are they marbled at the beginning of each years laying cycle or just the very first time they lay period

I've actually been really sad/geeky and kept a record of the egg laying

Here are some statistics

~Since 7th March (their first laying day), they've laid 296 eggs.
~April was the best month so far, with an average of 3.97 eggs a day!
~In the first 4 weeks they laid 8 eggs -> 16 eggs -> 27 eggs -> 28 eggs.

Geekiness over!
