Posting for a friend and his chicken….

got a question about this chicken. its either an olive egger or easter egger. I raised it in a brooder for a friend of mine since i already had babies in by brooder at the time and he had no idea how to brood chicks. It was purchased as a sexed female but a couple months ago he heard crowing and then discovered his neighbor has a roo (they are not allowed where he is). This morning he heard and saw this “guy” crowing loud and proud. I didn’t tell him that hens can and will crow as im afraid that would muddy waters because to me this looks like a man. Opinions? Here are pics of when he picked it up from me as a fully feathered teenager and today, apparently crowing.

I though it was a boy when he sent me pics a month or so ago, but wanted to wait to make sure cause he either has to rehome him or soup him and that’s a heavy decision.

As long as it's not HOA, many neighbors can be bought out with an occasional free carton of eggs. I'm sure he could find a new home, since he sounds well behaved so far and he's gorgeous.

Thanks! I figured so, but like to make sure since a lot is riding on this determination. He has been able to re-home the boy so he didn’t have to soup him.
