I just have to tell you this story because I think it is awesome. When my chicks arrived in the mail on thursday it was during a snow storm (of coarse!) The postmaster called and I ran over to get my chicks. When we opened the box I had 3 dead ones. He told me not to give up that fast and grabed all three out and started rubbing their chests and trying to warm them up. I thought it would never work. My blue self oegb bantam was stiff and eyes set. He kept at it though, showing me what to do. In a few minutes the blue had moved. We kept at it quite a while and it was obvious my 2 buttercups were gone but now we could see the blue breathing! We kept at it until I left. I took it to work with me and a friend helped me pry its little beak open and put gro-gel in. It swallowed but still wouldn't open its eyes. Well we did that at 3 different times and kept rubbing and got him under lights and by the time I left work the little guy was running around chirping so much that the kids were going crazy. He is now back in with the others and doing fine. I named him after the postman! I just thought that it was amazing that this guy would spend all that time with me when he didn't have to do anything, to help me save some baby chicks.
