potbellies for meat?

Pot bellied pigs were bred to be pets, 99.999% of people will not process their pets for food. Pot bellies have allot of fat and the meat from what I know of isn't very good. Now I am sure you will have some folks that will say that they have eaten it and it's good but in reality it is very poor quality meat. The feed to meat ratio is aslo very low, they are basicly pet pigs, I have raised many farm feeder pigs and there is absolutely no comparison.

Excuse me? Potbellies were originally raised for meat. That is what they were for. It is only in this country where they were made into pets. Since they are small they can be consumed before they spoil because in those areas refrigeration is not available, and they forage for their food so the cost of raising them is negligible. The reason for the pot belly is the large amount of intestine which is used for the breakdown of food that is not very nutrient dense.
