hi all,
I noticed my hen today lying down and went over to her and she tried walking but could put no pressure on her right leg( closest leg to camera), having to use her wing to stay up, when she stands on one leg the damaged leg is shaking constantly. I have moved her into a dog crate inside, with water and food. Is there anyway of helping her? Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Does it feel hot anywhere? Can you tell which part of the foot is bothering her?
Chickens can have a bit of baby aspirin.

The members above may be able to diagnose a broken leg from sprain etc. Feel for hot spots, or points were pressure makes her flinch. This does seem bad, if it were me, I would put her in a splint. You could try to make your own, or buy one from a seller on Etsy who 3D prints them. I've considered buyng them if I can't figure out how to print them myself. Keep her in that crate and you can pop half a baby aspirin down her throat. Simply hold her between your legs so you can squeeze her wings and hold her still. Then pinch the edges of her mouth to get her to open, and pop the whole half pill into her mouth. It'll go down easy after that, and she'll start feeling better.

How old is she?
Has she been laying eggs? When was the last one?
Was she vaccinated for Marek's?
Any bloat/fluid or swelling in the abdomen below the vent between the legs?
I don't see damage, do you?

I would get her hydrated, then offer some food. Vitamins once a day that contain E, B1 and B2.

Could be injury, disease like Marek's or possibly some type of reproductive issue.

At this point, if she were mine, I would not splint anything unless I felt confident the leg was fractured/broken. Offer the hen supportive care. Possibly placing her in sling to keep her upright may be helpful depending on if she's agreeable. Some birds won't tolerate that type of confinement and will injure themselves trying to get out. Use good judgement and common sense when applying treatments.

She is coming up to 2, she layed an egg this morning in the crate, the leg doesn’t seem broken and doesn’t react when I’m touching it. Her whole underside of belly has no feathers, picture attached. (She broke her egg, cleaned her up after photo) Thanks

Also I am not sure whether vaccinated or not, no swelling on the abdomen either
