Potential Predators? Help!

Doesn't mean they are safe of course- I assume you have the right setup. But I've not heard of anything killing a chicken by eating it's abdomen. Sounds like some kind of carrion animal was chewing on it. Snakes only each chicks and eggs... if you have a snake big enough to eat your chickens wandering around you'd see it because it would be like 6 feet long. Hawks eat the heads, and sounds like it was daytime so that rules out most other predators.

That said, you are in Australia, home of more poisonous bugs and animals than people.

Probably you have some sort of vulture? Maybe it started in and got interrupted .

If you have a game camera put it up as most likely the predator will be back.
