Potential Rooster

It is my first. However, I won’t get rid of the roosters. My husband has helped raise chickens with his grandpa and my mom grew up with them. There is really only a sign of one rooster so far. Wattles are starting to grow already and it’s not even 3 weeks yet.

That's good that you're not coming into it cold with a lot of unrealistic ideals then. :)

Got some photos of the little cuties?

I have lots of photos!!! I took them out yesterday but I only took 4 out at a time. It was 80 out but with the breeze I thought it would be too cool in my future flower garden (it’s bricked up and in the shade). Taking all 18 out at the same time would have been a hot mess!

This is my “twins”. Of course I know they aren’t but they look alike and have the same temperament….leave me alone 😂

I keep multiple roosters to multiple hens, numbers are often odd, but it works out fine for me. Been raising like this for years.

I've never had a bachelor pad, though would love to set one up sometime for extra eaters, & future breeders, but haven't had the chance.

I'm setting up a low-security facility for cull cockerels to hold them until they either sell or go to freezer camp.
