Hi,
I recently started fermenting my hens feed, 4 days ago. I noticed my big Braham had a huge crop last night on the roost & then this morning it did not fully empty. I let them out in the run like normal while I researched what to do, so she did already ate some. Before she ate her crop felt soft and squishy and I can feel feed in there. It feels the same now and I can only smell the fermented smell of the feed.
At this point I brought her inside in a dog kennel with only a small amount of water with a little acv. I'm thinking I should let it go over night and check again or should I treat this more aggressively today? If so, how should I treat it? I have a feeling she gorged on the new feed and it didn't agree with her.
Also, a vet isn't an option. Thanks.

Try smelling her crop. I had a chick who had sour crop and we gave her yogurt and olive oil. She/he did just fine and ended up being able to go to its new home! Can you take a picture of her crop? Sometimes chickens have big crops! If it feels like it has tiny rocks in the crop she will be fine!!

It smells like the fermented feed I have been giving her. She are a little this morning before I knew to keep her from eating. I'll take a picture when I get home.
