To illustrate the difficulty in capturing the colors of these birds I will post pictures of the same birds.
The first male is the same as the first in the other post. He is lighter than the pic in the first pick, but more orange than yellow in the second pic. (in reality)
The picture of the second male captures the color better, and is not that far off. That is pretty close to what I see. The lighting seams to be better for pictures.
And none of this is knowing what you are seeing on your monitor, LOL.


Lacy, if you look at the first pic, you can see the change of shade better and it is there. The breast color is a better indicator of how far off the standard description that they are.
My opinion is forget the illustration. I am not fan of it at all.
The second pic here is the closest I have to correct.
