Poultry Breeds of Spanish Ancestry

ok so if i wanted to add more diversity to my wfbs gene pool, could i use andalusian, breed back to wfsb? or would that create more problems?

On another thread, Sally Sunshine said she was possibly going to sell her WFBS. She has shown her birds on this thread. I thought of you and figured I would tell you she might be selling out so you can contact her. Hopefully you're in a position to acquire more birds if you look at them and like what you see.

Good to hear from you Lacy.

Good to here you are getting some birds on the ground. I ended up putting bout 85 Catalana and Catalana project birds on the ground. Whoops, I forgot about a half dozen that I hatched with my son's bantams. Somewhere near 90.

Wonder what others have done?

I hatched some Partridge Penes along with the Blue egg layers for the egg Farmer I work with. I put some into the Brinsea on Thursday for myself. I have PPennes, Pita Pintas and Crele Pene X Cream Legbar crossed back to Crele Pene eggs cooking.

Do you have a photo of this variety? I'd like to see that color.
i will try and get a better one. its not a variety really and i am not sure the best color to call them. they are a light chai or silver white with a few dark brown/black spots so I am assuming splash.
I got brown reds from Jerry Segler he said 3 weeks ago a few of the hens where in different runs. I just hatched them because I have always wanted a few brown reds walking around, these gals /guys will be finding new homes probably as I won't have to much extra space.

Hello Spanish Breeds People!

I took a video today of a Splash Barneveldner raising some Partridge Penes:

Very nice Ron! Thanks for sharing!

I have several broodies right now. In fact, in seems like every time I turn around, another bird is going broody on me! Most of them are bantams but I finally have a large fowl hen being broody for me. Yay! I can't wait to hand off some eggs/chicks to her!
