Is something like this strong enough and tall enough to keep my chickens out of the pen with the ducklings?

Worried they will try to eat them. (Not entirely sure if they will, but one of the adult drakes for sure would.)

Or is it better to just get the portable electric fencing setup type of stuff?

But if I didn't do that, and instead just tied or clamped plywood together, would plywood be high enough to keep them out also?

I have used this as temporarily fencing. It’s good for about six months and then it sags. Also, if you decide to use it, be sure to get the type pictured. There is another kind of plastic fence that is squared. It’s half the price almost worthless.right now I am using some old plastic fence to keep 10 week old ducks away from my drake . Without it he can reach through the welded wire fence and bite them.

Wow. That's not good!

Will they get curious enough to try to approach him?

I will be facing a similar dilemma soon. Although oddly enough only one of my drakes has gone after the ducklings so far. The other just seems to have no interest in them (thankfully).

It has happened. The drake bit the duckling through the welded wire fence when the duckling was about 6 or 7 weeks old. He did not let go until I got there. We also used this type of fencing a couple years ago just so the ducks could go out of the coop/run mostly supervised for a while each day.

That kind of makes sense.

I'm sorry this happened to you. And it was probably hard to see and watch.

But it would be understandable that the ducklings would be curious about the adult ducks, and try to approach them.
