I'm trying to find the ordinance regarding Bogg Township of Centre County, PA. I've looked on the website and can't find what I'm looking for? Any ideas on where else I can look? If nothing else, I will call tomorrow and find out.

You can visit your Township's website

http://www.boggstownship.org/

And get the number for your local zoning officer. Call him/her and ask if laying hens are permitted, the officer will probably ask for your address and he will tell you if you may have them or not.

If he can't tell you, ask who should you ask to get the correct information.

Hope that helps

Use your township zoning map to figure out your zone.

http://www.boggstownship.org/zoning_department_map.shtml

Then download this .pdf to see what's allowed in your zone.

The problem is, the only thing remotely like "keeping chickens" on their list is "Agricultural Business" and "Agricultural Operation". You will likely have to call the zoning office (the phone number is all over their website) to discuss it with the authorities.

Have them define both of the agricultural uses.

Good luck.
