Awe, I used to have a boy named Basil. He was a jerk, so I rehomed him. A few months ago he died, but he has at least two sons and his new home.Basil makes me chase him all over the lawn as I try to put him away at night. Naughty boy!!!! Sometimes, I can almost hear the Benny Hill chase music in the background.

Ahahah I had a roo like that. He was the only egg, and only chick! I raised him in my brooder and his would fly on my head and shoulders and follow me around. As soon as I put him in my flock, he attacked me. I rehomed him, but his new owner says that she is gonna turn him into chicken dinner. He deserves it, the little brat!
Thank you.Awe, I used to have a boy named Basil. He was a jerk, so I rehomed him. A few months ago he died, but he has at least two sons and his new home.
He was a gorgeous RIR X EE mix. He has stunning RIR coloring, and then he had a beard and muffs.
You're boy is so pretty. I love his blue face.
He's so cute![]()
Thanks. He is crowing every morning now but he sounds like a squeak toy, lolHe is darling!
Nope, I don’t know what’s pigeon pie, I made her into stew. Lots of root vegetables.Pigeon pie???that need a story told!
When mine all get calling inside the loft 4 feet away from me, staring at me, it is because they want a treat or some attention from me. I can say "Please Guineas, STOP it already, I hear ya" and they'll actually quiet down & stare at me, like well we quieted down, what's our reward? They know about my live mealworm farm Lol. I reach into the dried mealworm bag and they scream again, but if I reach into the live mealworms they are tilting heads, piled up at the door & all just waiting for me. When I open the door to their section, the most outgoing male will jump up to take a live mealworm right out of my hand before the others get it...he pecks & grabs that worm hard, too. The sweetest hen, she lags behind, she is always a bit apart from the other 3, she is a sweet Blue. She will come to me & gently take treats from my hand. She is more quiet & friendly with me in general. They also love fresh chickweed. It grows all over, but if I pick some for them, suddenly it is better than all other chickweed they could pick themselves. The 2 boys chase eachother around the 12x24 building at top speed, puff up, bite eachother's butts then chase again, very entertaining. They dig massive holes for group dustbathing. They are wonderful watch-birds. They fly up to the roof & hang out with the pigeons which is cool, so far it has been a hawk deterrent. Oh and they've decided they prefer pigeon grains over their own food, so now I have to mix the foods, or they'll pick on the pigeons out of jealousy. They do come running whenever I call them & put themselves to bed, preferring their own section in the pigeon loft. The do mingle among the chickens & get along fine when everyone is out free ranging but they've sort of bonded to the pigeons which is great, both types of birds fly pretty well & I like them sort of protecting the pigeons by their larger presence. I get a kick out of them, I like how they look & act, just hilarious.I used to have 16 guineas
I needed to get rid of six, and my Confusion (no, really, that's what they are called!) Is just as loud!
I'm tempted to rename them all "SHUT UP!"
